Introduction
This unit investigates how education courses can be better linked to the needs of businesses. Materials include tutorial videos and case-studies showing examples of good practices. Further information on our webpage, support and advice will allow VET professionals to get a better understanding of the concept of innovative learning and how courses should be constructed to allow for the requirements of the modern working environment. Quizzes will help learners determine how well they understand the topic and how they can implement appropriate methods in their courses for students/learners.

Duration
10 hours consisting of:
4 hours face-to-face
5 hours self-directed learning
1 hour assessment
Knowledge:
- Practical knowledge of how to assess the competences needed within the workplaces.
- Practical knowledge of how to interpret the results to create agile VET course that respond to labour market needs
Skills:
- Understand the needs of business through facilitated conversations
- Ability to interpret business needs and formulate them into course curricula
- Ability to build working relationships with businesses that harmonise the world of work and the world of education
Attitudes:
- Openness to engage with employers to understand their in-company training requirements
- Willingness to work with employers to co-create responsive VET courses
Prior knowledge or skills are not required by participants in order to complete this unit.
